There is no way to get the ear piece to fit deep enough for the sound to be as good when holding them in place. There are silicone ear-tips which can be rotated slightly to further personalize just how directly they squirt sound towards your ear canal; but without a good seal, it almost doesnt matter how good the sound is natively because you're never going to hear it all anyway. The BackBeat app even allows the simple wireless updating of the firmware. I don't know if this is due to the difference in the shape, or angle of the ear piece (see photo). I use these for running and have no issues with them coming loose or falling off. These earphones fit comfortably around the back of my head. I mostly use an elliptical and do calisthenics. PROs:
Because these Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth headphones are the type which fits over the top of the ears, this product will likely not fit everyones ears, if a person were to have really small ears or really large ears, then a good fit might not be achievable
- Volume control with the tap surface was also a little dodgy--you tap lightly to increase volume one increment--that was great--but you have to hold the tap surface to lower the volumesometimes one increment, other times it would jump several levels lowerit was simply hard sometimes to find a happy and consistent medium
I wish more Bluetooth devices would offer this kind of functionality as it actually came in quite handy on more than one occasion. This isn't a small almost invisible earbud you slip in your ears, this is a sports model geared for the outdoors, so stability was of the essence and you're getting ear loops galore one outside and one inside. This review is from Plantronics - BackBeat FIT 2100 Wireless Earbud Headphones - Blue. It's as comfortable and stable in your ears, and also has an unsealed design for outdoor use and awareness of your surrounding. Id advise to break in your headphones before blasting these. The new ones have a more sensitive/trickier volume adjustment that is not as 'user-friendly' as the former models. I seem to get more sweat that tracks into the ear. I didn't pre-order, but plan to buy a Pixel 6a after launch. Plantronics' new line-up of sports headsets seems to have done a lot of things right. However, I had two issues with the design. The highs and lows in the bass and treble are great and very full in my opinion but I suppose its all relative. I have been using the Plantronics - BackBeat FIT 2100 Wireless Earbud Headphones for about a month now. Remember this unit counts with a limited warranty since the first day of purchase, and if you need a replacement you can simply click on the following link for further instructions: https://bit.ly/2N637EC. The BackBeat Fit 3100 is available in two colors: Black/Red (left) and Grey (right). One important note for those of you looking to use the appthere was, at least for me, a bit of branding confusion on the App Store. They do turn on and off when you take them out of the case / put them back in, so you won't worry about that at least. But like I said: Im very happy with them at that price point. Battery life is about 7hrs for the Fit 2100 and there's no charging case to fill it up on the go. This is where my frustration began. The app said the download would take about 50 minutes. It also like how you can hear the street noise, which helps for safety when running outside. The quality of sound isn't really that great, almost a slight echo when listening to them. All three iterate and expand on the Fit's promises: stability, comfort, sound, and value for money. I Broke them out an started using myself lol. 15 min charge equals 1 hour of playing time with 2 hour charge time to full charge which suggests it might play for 8 hours (Although I have yet to try that). Great sound quality, the fit into your ears from being suctioned by the over the ear piece. There's also the personalized 1-tap and 2-tap feature that I described with the new BackBeat app, though this time, it's the left earbud that has it and the right one doesn't. Still, it's a nice feature to have for that one-time-in-a-thousand when it really would come in handy. Similar to the "Find my iPhone" feature in iOS, there's a Find my headset function that is pretty great in theoryyou'll get a tone from the headset that is activated from an in-app option so you can locate your headset if you absent-mindedly lay it down somewhere in your room, lose it at the bottom of your gym bag, drop it behind the seat of the car, etc. I really liked the volume adjustment and the power 'on-off' switch(es) on the prior model of this item. The earlier version would tell you how many hours of charge you had left. The highs and treble are okay but not sparkling. Sound quality is, understandably, a cut above the previous two models, with more pronounced bass and clearer mids. Wish it had ambiance Noise, or if it does, wish it was better because I couldnt tell. without having to grab phone/player is a tremendous addition for someone not wanting to interrupt a workout with too many button presses and gestures
I have an earlier version of these headphones and needed a second pair for my late night movie watching. The teeny buttons are gone, replaced by the same context-sensitive buttons on each ear that we saw on the 3100 above. It's a good one to have for working out an just to walk. They also cause a lot less strain on my small ear. You may also want to check if your headset doesn't have any kind of updates available through our "Backbeat" app. Plantronics told me this was inspired by sports sunglasses and goggles, and I think the buds do a good job of blending in with that aesthetic. Most earbuds don't fit/stay in my ear, especially for running. Some users complained that these aren't noise cancelling and you could hear sounds around you while music is playing, but this was stated right in the details of the product (they are NOT noise cancelling headphones). The bass is full and warm. If you don't trust me, check out the Wirecutter's comparison write-up: they chose it as their pick for running and said it delivered the best sound for unsealed earbuds.Plantronics has been expanding its Fit line-up since the original, but today, the company has announced three new models to encompass most use cases. Other than that, the headphones are great for exercising. When they are on sale, you cannot beat the quality for the price. The design looks like a regular Fit without the neck band, and although it's not the sexiest thing, it works.
But it was the BackBeat Fit that stole my heart. I used them once in the gym and could still hear the background music and some grunts and shouts, so keep that in mind if you're planning on wearing them indoors a lot. They give the user the tons of control over the music they want to listen to from their mobile phone. I enjoy how these sit lightly in your ear, and wrap around your ear and your head for good support.
I lost my first pair, but liked them so much, I went and got another. Boy, does it work! I know how vocal some of our readers are about this, so I thought I'd get it out of the way first. My one complaint is that the button is really sensitive so I accidentally paused the music a couple of times but it was easily fixed with a tap. I quite enjoyed listening to my podcasts and Spotify music on them. Only exception is the ear wrap and head piece. I will be sharing my thoughts about them in the next few days. Sois this headset worth your hard-earned money? They are made to use outdoors and are waterproof. As for sound, the quality and volume are practically the same as the Fit 3100. - Played loud/clear enough to enjoy some workout music without sacrificing awareness of activities around me
If it's not actually in my ears it's a tad uncomfortable to just have them looped over my ears yet you can't just let them rest around your neck because of the limp design of the neck strap. Then when you have been using them for a couple of days you get "Battery low". I had a full charge and used them for about 1.5 hours and turned them off (heard "Power Off"). The sound when pushing the earphones into my ears was very good with strong bass and clear vocals. There's variety in price and form factors; whether you exercise indoors or outdoors, prefer true wireless or don't mind the small cable, you'll find something for you. The type of headphones which have all silicone eartips, these usually fit in the ear with less discomfort after many hours. 100% of the time, and it achieves it by physical design, not via technology (i.e. It is a great wireless for the price plus you can purchase a warranty on them. These headphones have the classic Backbeat behind-the-ear styling that you'll either love or hate. It also has a very good water resistant build to it. I couldn't figure out why so I tried it again and when the screen timed out, the download failed again. Compared to the original Fit, there are a few other improvements: the neckband is shorter and won't stand as far behind your neck, the earloops and tips are softer, and the rubber material feels nicer. This is a slightly more difficult process on most other Bluetooth headphones that I own, most of which have a longer amount of time needed to press and hold, before the headphone turn on. Good headphones for simple workouts but NOT recommended for noisy environments such as a public gym. Had to use these while waiting for my wireless ear buds to come in. The product is awesome and my wife loves them!!! If you can get a good fit then they may be for you. A lot of sound escapes and these are by no means noise cancelling. For years, you couldn't see me anywhere without the red BackBeat Go 2 draped around my neck as I listened to podcasts while walking, doing chores, shopping, and more. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's worth keeping in mind if you're used to longer battery life. microphones pick up ambient sounds and actively pass them through the headset speakers). Her love story with Android started in 2009 and has been going stronger with every update, device, tip, app, and game. I guess the idea is a one size fits all. If you look closely at the images below, you'll notice something: every earbud has a large button with reflective coating. - Tap controls were not always smooththe lightest touch was enough to register a tap on the left control surfacesometimes; and then other times, it wouldn't register even a prolonged press without resorting to greater pressure on the tap surface which then pushed the left earpiece uncomfortably into my ear
It has an in-ear design with behind-the-ear loops to stay stable and are super lightweight. All you get is "Battery high". Sound quality may be a little bit better when properly seated in the ear but the internal ear cone does not sit/stay in place as well. I said kool as one then two months go by now it's 4months. - Though pliable, the thick rubber that loops around the auricle or ear flap does exert some inward pressure on the backside of the earat least for me, it became fatiguing after about 20-30 minutes though thats been true of every behind-the-ear set Ive ever owned. The Fit 3100 uses Bluetooth 5.0, plus it's sweatproof and IP-57 waterproof. The audio quality of these Plantronics BackBeat Fit headphones is actually quite good, and it is as good or better than most of the other brands of headphones that I own, of which only the way more expensive Bluetooth headphones or earbuds have better audio quality. It's not ideal, but I understand that this had to be sacrificed to get the cable shorter and avoid it flapping around when you run or snagging on gym equipment. Battery life is about 6hrs and it doesn't have a charging case either. - The little 'stable-fit wings on backside of the silicone ear-tips didn't really help secure the earpieces in my ears; the headset still slowly drifted back to the rear of my ear canal's openings as I was working out (which, ultimately, affected the quality of the sound at the time)
