Creed often did that before . I love this stuff. OK.so as an old owner of Montblanc Indviduel and a new owner of Creed Original Santal I feel I can provide some feedback on which fragrance I like better. I wear original santal in the winter and original vetiver in the summer in texas, but i was thinking about it and i guess because creed does such a good job freshening the scent up with juniper berries here for example and with their patented bergamont openings in other scents, you could probably wear this all year long. Nothing special. I love spraying it on my leather gloves. Not synthetic or cheap smelling like Montblanc. However, I loved the scent itself so much that I decided to buy a 75 mL bottle anyway. Virtually Identical to Mont Blanc Individuel but with higher quality ingredients.. if you went out and bought this because you loved the smell and didnt know about the the Mont Blanc youd kick yourself for wasting so much money. People have been comparing this to Montblanc Individuel but this is a much better fragrance I think than that synthetic bomb. I will buy a bottle for the collection. A little Generic but, Natural, Rich and Woody!. Not worth the $$$ when compared to Mont Blanc Individuel especially considering that Mont Blanc came out about 2 years BEFORE Original SantalPut that in your pipe and smoke it.. It just didn't seem to project. Smells fantastic, but as I said, there is nothing in this that says "wow!" I have worn it in every season and all times of day, although I tend to save it for evenings out. On me, Original Santal opens like a cheap men's cologne and after fifteen minutes magic! I recently bought a decant of Viktor and Rolf's Antidote and although the opening is different, the dry down is quite similar to Santal as well. Smells like Joop! This scent is spicy and fruity, with just a hint of wood (and it is truly faint). By no means I'm saying this is bad: it just doesn't work on me -nor does Axe ;). A lovely fragrance but very close to joop. Inspired by the royal and spiritual splendour of India, Original Santal celebrates the aroma of the most exotic sandalwood in the whole world, the Mysore Sandalwood. Now creed shows they use authentic mysore sandalwood. Slightly powdery. etc. Definitely one of my favorite Creed scents- as a woman I sometimes wear it, but my brother and father both love it and have their own bottles. To me the opening is way too sweet, but the dry down is incredible! Like that blandly handsome guy with the MBA and the trust fund and the "good family" and the good job that your mama thinks you should like, but whom you find so dull that no sparks fly, so there's no real future in it. Blast of cinnamon, sandalwood and juniper berries at the open which then settles down to let the lavender, tonka shine through. The proposal to present a high level sandalwood was fulfilled here with the mastery and creativity that only Creed could achieve. Maybe a safe office fragrance or grocery shopping fragrance. constantly and I could smell it across the house. Kind of a warm touch you get with the cinnamon. I love Joop Homme, don't get me wrong. I think that Original Santal took inspiration from the old D&G pour homme. why do I feel so warm?". Rather pretentious of Creed to call it Original Santal, dont you agree? lol. Pass. . Everyone in my family is obsessed with it. A sample of this is more than enough for me. For a Creed, it seems to be a bit more playful and fun than their usual offerings while still remaining classy and high quality. Ive lost count on how many times ive tried this over the years now, and maybe my nose is just in a bad mood every time ive smelled it, but man, the first portion of this fragrance I just do not get. This opens and feels a bit like a uppity Dior Fahrenheit , albeit smoother , more AIRY . then morphs into a sweeter scent in the dry-down (at that point - the Fahrenheit resemblance vanishes--if you were wondering) . But Original Santal is like balance Joop Homme to me, I'm lil' disapointed cuz after an hour it is too close to Joop Homme. This is a direct rip-off/clone of Mont Blanc Individuel, which to my tastes is not something a niche house SHOULD be doing but we're so far removed (time-wise) from when these two fragrances were released, but nonetheless it should be reviewed with that in mind On my sample this scent is pleasant enough (raspberry fabric conditioner) not sure what the 'santal' is all about.
