As can be seen, the swap was completed with the engine still in place. However you will need to add a spacer to the top of the frame where the top of the motor mount bracket will attach to the frame. I know that on the crossmember conversion on the '60-'62 there are only a couple holes that line up. They've been on over 10 years and the bolts have worked fine. Thanks, I just sat the frame on the donor member tonight I did not mark the old xmember position when removing. Accuracy in mounting the steering linkage is particularly important as it is a close fit to both the frame and the crossmember. Yes I would use the original location on the crossmember for the motor mount brackets. In order to make sure all the later components fit in exactly the right place on the 1960 frame, once the donor suspension was disassembled, templates were made out of manila file folders indicating the location of all mounting holes for the crossmember, idler arm, flexible brake hoses, sway bar, etc. I will be dropping a 350/350th in also. After placing the truck frame on jack stands and before removing the 1960 suspension, I marked the fender and garage floor identifying the centerline of the spindles so I'd make sure to put the new suspension in the same place.

Although it looks like Swiss cheese, only 3 of the holes are added. Choppin' Block completely redesigned the factory C10 suspension to create very little camber change, no bump steer issues and created a better handling suspension. Using a tool this precise prevented any damage to the brackets. It appears looking at the pictures the two large holes also required opening up a bit to provide clearance/access for the upper control arm bolts. (The following photo is marked showing the old and new locations). Connecting the hard line to the frame end of the hose was rather difficult (inside the frame) and required a lot of wrench work through a small opening in the top of the frame. If you don't like the way the wheels look, make any necessary adjustments to the WB before you start drilling holes. I've been considering doing the same thing on my '64, but I'm wondering if I should move all the steering linkage forward the same amount to keep the geometry where it should be? Hope this helps. Two chunks of surplus frame rail were simply bolted to the early 1955 style motor mount holes in the front of the block. This makes adding caster to the front end very easy. It was immediately discovered the upper shock brackets were no longer in the correct orientation causing the shocks to bind. The holes that are circled in the 2nd photo are the new positions aligned with the 75 crossmember.
